Different From What You’re Used To

The first time you drink Mati, it might surprise you. Not because it tastes strange, but because it tastes different from most drinks people are used to today. Less sweet, more earthy, slightly bitter and a lot more natural. And honestly, that’s exactly why we love it.

Real Mate Was Never Meant To Taste Like Candy

In Brazil and across South America, mate is part of everyday life. People grow up drinking it at the beach, during work, after sports or together with friends. The taste becomes familiar over time.

A bit like coffee, dark chocolate or matcha, mate is one of those flavors that grows on you. Most things people deeply love aren’t always designed to impress you on the very first sip. They become part of a ritual first.

Why We Kept Mati Honest

When creating Mati, we made a conscious decision not to hide the taste of mate behind lots of sugar or sweeteners. We wanted to stay closer to the real ritual and the natural taste of yerba mate itself. That also means Mati tastes more honest. Not overly fruity, not artificial, not extremely sweet. Just real mate energy.

The Moment It Clicks

Funny enough, we hear the same thing all the time from people trying Mati for the first time:

“At first I wasn’t sure… but now I actually crave it.”

And that’s usually the moment it clicks. Because Mati isn’t really about instant gratification. It’s the kind of drink that slowly becomes part of your routine. Your mornings, your workdays, your afternoons with friends. Some drinks try to impress you immediately. Others grow on you.

Mati is one of them.

Join the ritual.
